Universal Studios Japan will hold a special commemorative month called “Thanks Love Month 2025” from Friday, May 9th to Sunday, June 15th, 2025, where guests can express their gratitude and love not only to their mothers and fathers, but also to all the important people in their lives. Ahead of the grand opening, a ceremony was held today with actor Ikusaburo Yamazaki as a special supporter, and the special programs that will be offered for a limited time at the park were unveiled to the press for the first time.

At around 10:00am, actor Ikusaburo Yamazaki made a surprise appearance in front of specially invited guests! Yamazaki-san has been appointed as the first-ever ‘Special Supporter’ of the event which has entered its fourth year. Based on his own experiences, Mr. Yamazaki strongly sympathizes with and supports this project, saying, “[tentative] I am where I am today thanks to the help of everyone around me. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my loved ones, and I hope that everyone will also take this as an opportunity to express their gratitude to others.” In keeping with this year's theme, “Who do you want to celebrate today?”, Yamazaki-san chose [TBC] as the recipient of his gratitude. Along with recalling touching episodes, he spoke candidly about his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “[tentative] Usually, I am [TBC], but today, I want to tell you that [TBC].”
At the end of the ceremony, popular Park characters, wearing gorgeous bouquets and corsages, gathered at Gramercy Park. Together with guests, they expressed their gratitude to one another, and as colorful confetti danced through the air accompanied by cries of “Thank you,” “Thanks Love Month 2025” kicked off in a bright and cheerful atmosphere.

During “Thanks Love Month 2025”, the Park will offer various programs to encourage guests to express their feelings of gratitude, which are often difficult to convey, in a heartfelt manner. In addition to the “Thanks Love Greeting” event, where popular Park characters cheer guests on with cute bouquets, the Park will also be distributing “Thanks Love Stickers & Cards” to make it easier to express your gratitude. Guests who received the stickers earlier today were all smiles telling each other, “thank you for everything”, and heartwarming scenes of children putting stickers on each other and family members were seen throughout the Park.

This year, we have received more support than ever before from our partners for this project, and we are holding a variety of events outside the Park as well. In addition, Universal Studios Japan has been conducting various community outreach activities as part of its CSR initiatives. This year, in collaboration with OSAKA Healthcare Pavilion, a special “Thanks Love Month” stage event will be held at the recently opened Osaka-Kansai Expo. Let's share the importance of "life" and the joy of "health” and express our "gratitude" to the important people who support us.

Through various initiatives in collaboration with the local community, such as special classes at local elementary schools (scheduled for late May), Universal Studios Japan will promote activities to establish this month of gratitude in Osaka and spread the circle of giving thanks to people important in each of our lives.

This TV commercial features Peppermint Patty from the comic strip “Peanuts”. Through the story of Peppermint Patty, who doesn't have a mother, the commercial asks, “Who is today (Mother's Day) for?” Through this commercial, we hope to share the idea that Mother's Day is not just for mothers, but a day to express gratitude and love to all of our loved ones in today's diverse society. Universal Studios Japan hopes to help convey the feelings of gratitude of those who share this sentiment.

Universal Studios Japan has renewed its CSR slogan in April 2024 to, “LOVE HAS NO LIMIT,” and is moving forward with new projects. This year's “Thanks Love Month 2025” will also be a key initiative of this project, during this period, which includes Mother's Day (May 11 this year) and Father's Day (June 15), we hope that people will take the time to think about the important people in their lives and express their gratitude and love to them. This year, we aim to expand the initiative with even more support and make it even more impactful.
Through this event, we aim to establish a “new month of gratitude” that not only expresses gratitude to mothers and fathers, but also conveys feelings of appreciation, praise, and encouragement to partners, friends, colleagues, and other important people in our lives, in line with the current trend of the diversification of lifestyles and family structures.
