Various Awards for DE&I in FY2024—Creating the Best Work Environment Where Everyone Can Be Themselves

USJ LLC promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion under the slogan “LOVE HAS NO LIMIT” (creating a future full of children’s smiles). By embracing workplace diversity and harnessing different perspectives, we aim to enhance both our corporate competitiveness and the sense of purpose and fulfillment of each individual employee. We aim to create a workplace where everyone can play an active role without barriers. At the same time, various systems and initiatives are in place to spark innovation by making the most of our diversity.

In the area of DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion), we are working to provide a diverse workplace by creating an environment where individuals can demonstrate their strengths in a variety of areas. This includes LGBTQ+ employees, people with disabilities, and international personnel, and we promote recruitment and other initiatives.

Our initiatives were recognized in fiscal 2024, and for the fourth consecutive year, we were awarded Gold in the PRIDE Index, an evaluation index for initiatives to address LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities in the workplace. We include a clear statement on same-sex partners in company regulations and implement LGBTQ+ awareness training both inside and outside the company. And our social media and various awareness-raising activities were highly evaluated.

Furthermore, we were recognized with the Best Workplace award in the D&I AWARD, Japan's largest such award that recognizes companies committed to diversity and inclusion, and received this award from among other certified companies. Members nominated by each department were recognized for their activities to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and employees with disabilities by way of activities related to International Women's Day promoted by Project NO BORDERS, which promotes DE&I across the company, PRIDE Month in June, and Inclusion Month for Persons with Disabilities in September, led by the Human Resources Department. Our employee-participatory awareness-raising activities to deepen understanding of LGBTQ+ and employees with disabilities were highly evaluated. 

Our employees come from a variety of backgrounds, creating a diverse environment that resembles a small-town community. And we ensure fairness so that each employee can feel safe and express their strengths in their own way. Also highly evaluated were various other social activities such as the introduction of the My Time system to allow employees to take time off for their personal needs, the promotion of parental leave for both men and women, and the creation of a system to express gratitude among guests and employees through "THANKS LOVE MONTH."

We renewed our "City of Osaka's LGBT Leading Company" certification, a certification program under which the city of Osaka certifies businesses and other organizations that are leading the way in promoting initiatives to resolve issues faced by sexual minorities in accordance with certain standards.

We are also registered as an "Osaka Prefecture Excellent Support Company for Persons with Disabilities" as a business that actively supports the employment and participation of people with disabilities in Osaka Prefecture.

Through "LOVE HAS NO LIMIT" CSR activities inside and outside the Park, USJ LLC aims to create an inclusive workplace where people with diverse backgrounds and ways of thinking can work together with mutual acceptance and respect, and a Park where everyone can enjoy themselves with peace of mind.
