Creating an Environment that Supports Women's Success and Career Development.

USJ is implementing various initiatives including personnel systems, training, and events, with the aim of creating a workplace where workers can play an even more active role regardless of their gender.

USJ offers its guests a diverse variety of experience value and just like a small city, the park is operated by people of many different genders, ages and nationality working at many different kinds of jobs.
Due to the nature of the theme park business, the percentage of female employees is high, and we value our corporate culture in which many women are able to actively develop their careers.

The company-wide cross-departmental project “NO BORDERS”, which promotes the creation of a workplace where everyone can flourish, holds the annual “Universal Women's Festa”, an annual event that encourages female employees to challenge themselves without limitation in their growth and careers through dialogue, and also contributes to networking among women, during the International Women's History Month in March.

In addition, the company has expanded its programs to support female employees in balancing work and family life, such as a birth support system (leave due to fertility treatment), a maternity and paternity leave system, and support programs after returning to work, in accordance with women's specific life stages and life events including pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, to enable female employees to continue their careers.

Furthermore, we conduct Unconscious Bias training for managers to create an inclusive culture so that not only women, but also people with different perspectives and experiences, can work with confidence while demonstrating their individuality.

Here is a message about our programs and corporate culture from a female leader who works at USJ.

“We believe that in order to create an environment in society and in companies where employees are empowered regardless of their gender, it is necessary to foster a diverse and inclusive corporate culture in everything we do. To this end, it is important to pave the way for a fairer work environment, including flexible working arrangements, a parental leave system that meets the diverse needs of employees, and promote female leadership while tackling unconscious bias. In addition to making these programs and activities a reality, USJ strongly supported my career development by providing opportunities to engage with people from different departments and diverse backgrounds. There are a lot of respected and talented people at USJ and in our group, and learning from them has been an invaluable experience for me. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I want to continue to challenge myself and not set limits.

While USJ has made significant progress in promoting diversity and inclusion through various initiatives, there is still room for improvement. we will continue to work together to create a better workplace to ensure that USJ continues to be at the forefront of promoting diversity and active roles for women in Japan.”

At USJ, because "diversity is the norm", we want to go beyond that and focus on inclusion. We will strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can flourish in their own way and become ‘a company of choice’.
