Celebrating 75th anniversary of the birth of the “Peanuts” with first-ever collaboration

Universal Studios Japan (operated by USJ LLC) held its annual charity dinner show, “Universal Wonder Night,” on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This event has been held annually* since 2008 in collaboration with our partner companies with the aim of creating a better community and supporting those in need in the local area.

The funds raised through the Charity Dinner Show, including donations from participating companies and USJ LLC, will be used to support children in the local community. This year, we were able to receive support from 36 participating companies. A matching gift will be donated by USJ LLC, creating a total of 18 million yen in charitable funds. 15 million yen will be donated to the Osaka Prefectural Scholarship Association's grant-based scholarship, the “Osaka Prefectural Scholarship Association USJ Scholarship,” and a wheelchair accessible vehicle (valued at approximately 3 million yen) with exterior design by Park’s characters will be donated to a welfare facility in Osaka City (this year, the General incorporated association “Iris-Kai”).

On the day of the event, approximately 400 people from participating companies gathered at a special venue within the park. A charity silent auction was held, along with a presentation of letters of appreciation from Osaka City and the Osaka Prefectural Scholarship Foundation, and a donation ceremony. Yoshimura Hirofumi, Governor of Osaka Prefecture, also made a surprise appearance! He expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported the initiative and shared a message about the charitable programs saying, “I am here today to express my sincere appreciation to all of you. Many of our supporting partners attending this charity dinner show have made significant contributions. Since 2009, a total of 180 high school students have been able to pursue higher education thanks to these efforts. Numerous young people have realized their dreams through the scholarship program, and it is all because of your generous support. Thank you very much.”

Taku Murayama, Executive Vice President & General Manager of USJ LLC reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the local community and working to create a future filled with children's smiles stating, “I would be delighted if this event becomes an opportunity for children to believe in their limitless potential and take a step toward the future by expressing their individuality and talents. Universal Studios Japan will continue to uphold its commitment to corporate social responsibility, aiming to be a company that energizes not only the local community but all of Japan, not just through our theme park business, but through broader contributions to society.”

About the “Peanuts” Collaboration

This year, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the birth of “Peanuts,” our friends at the Park, with our first collaboration for this event, “Universal Wonder Night with PEANUTS.” In addition to appearing in various programs such as greetings and opening shows, a special dinner course inspired by the Peanuts characters has been developed exclusively for this event. We offered a special menu that was meticulously designed, cute in appearance, and delicious to eat. During the dinner, participants at the tables expressed their admiration, and the event was greatly enlivened by this special collaboration with Peanuts, which was only available on this special night.

Universal Studios Japan promotes various social contribution initiatives under the CSR slogan “LOVE HAS NO LIMIT.” This year's “Universal Wonder Night with PEANUTS” is also one of our key initiatives aimed at supporting local communities and bringing smiles and vitality to society and local communities, making them “Super Energetic.”
