Universal Studios Across the Globe Hold Volunteer Activities Simultaneously

At Universal Studios around the world, each park is actively involved in its own volunteer efforts to deepen ties with the local community.

In an effort to further invigorate these activities, we held the first "Global Volunteer Program" in September 2023, a joint volunteer activity to be held in four locations around the world (Orlando, USA; Hollywood, USA; Beijing, China; and Osaka, Japan) at the same time.

We here in Japan weeded and cleaned up the Shorenjigawa Park, a place that is very dear to the hearts of the people of Konohana-ku, where the park is located. As this is the first "Global Volunteer Program" that transcends national borders, we wanted to conduct an activity that would truly be appreciated by the local community, so we asked the mayor of Konohana Ward and local residents for their opinions, and they suggested that we clean-up Shorenjigawa Park alongside local residents.

Local residents who participated in the volunteer work commented saying, " Shorenjigawa Park is a place of peace for us local residents. We are glad that the park has been cleaned up", and "children can now play there safely and to their heart's content because there are no cars coming in and out of the park”.

The “Global Volunteer Program” is a simultaneous effort by Universal Studios around the world to meet the needs of local communities. This USJ program, which was carried out in cooperation with Konohana Ward and in unison with the local community, was a great success and was highly praised by the ward residents.

USJ will continue to contribute to the local community and work toward a future where children can live with smiles on their faces.
