Promoting Programs that Support Children Battling Illness

In striving for a society where all children can live with hopes and dreams, popular park characters visit children in the hospital and USJ invites children battling intractable diseases to the park.

Since the opening of the park, USJ has continued to collaborate with Make-A-Wish of Japan, a public interest incorporated foundation that supports children with incurable diseases to realize their dreams and has invited over 150 children to the park to date. Our crews work together to ensure that children and their families can enjoy a day at the park with peace of mind and create special memories that can only be made at the park.

In December 2023, USJ collaborated with Lawson, Inc., an official marketing partner of Universal Studios Japan, to deliver Christmas gifts to children hospitalized at Osaka Public University Hospital and hospital employees.
This initiative began with the signing of a comprehensive partnership agreement with the Osaka Prefectural Government and a shared desire to conduct activities to bring smiles to the faces of local children, and in fiscal 2023 marked the third time this has been done. The day was filled with smiles at the heartwarming exchange event, including a meet and greet at the pediatric ward by popular characters from Sesame Street™.

USJ is committed to making not just people at the park but the local community and to the children who will lead the society of the future Super Energized. We will continue our programs to give courage to as many children as possible.

Date: December 22nd, 2023
