The Walk of Fame started at the suggestion of Harry Sugarman in 1956. It honors stars selected from five categories including film, television, radio, music, and theatre. Each celebrity's name is imprinted on a star-shaped stone which is then placed on the glistening sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
